Konidala Pawan Kalyan, born on September 2, 1971, in Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh, is an Indian actor, politician, and philanthropist renowned for his distinctive style in Telugu cinema. Known as “Power Star” by his fans, Kalyan made his acting debut with the 1996 film Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi and holds a black belt in Karate. Beyond his acting career, he is actively involved in philanthropy, supporting various social causes. His political career began in 2008 as the president of Yuvarajyam, the youth wing of the Praja Rajyam Party founded by his elder brother, Chiranjeevi. Kalyan founded the Janasena Party (JSP) in March 2014. Although JSP did not win significant seats in the 2014 elections, Kalyan’s influence was pivotal in the TDP-BJP alliance’s victory. JSP’s first major electoral success came in 2024, when it won a landslide victory in alliance with TDP and BJP, securing 21 MLA seats and 2 MP seats. Kalyan was elected from the Pitapuram constituency and became the deputy chief minister.
